How many blocks high?

How many blocks high?

How many blocks high?

Like 100 should be enough.

After 100 players die from falling damage regardless of what enchantments they have or items they fall on. However, in minecraft, you can "MG Bucket Jump" from world height (y320) to World bottom (y-64) and survive if you place water down right before impact.

It's well known enough, that it has a place in the MC competitions and people have set up achievements in mod packs and the like for it (like the world height to world base) as extra challenges to accomplish. Mind you, this is a veteran player thing... but, it's fun to watch videos of players doing it. (See: HermitCraft season 9, specifically Zedaph.)

So, I would say that Water is the only thing that can break your fall from any distance, with taking no damage.

I personally think after about 50-100 blocks, it's absolutely ridiculous and it isn't a mechanic I care much for. Can always just add multiple deep water blocks for deeper drops. For practical purposes, a player may want to drop down to a spawner bottom or something, but other than that, why would you even need to?

Slime blocks remove fall damage completely, even for 30k Y fall.

I didn't realise you could drop that far in MC. What is that useful for? How does that help with general gameplay?

You can in MT. And we already have it.

Also Elytra.

Well in our case, (aside from a parity thing) I would say this: most players keep a bucket of water on their hotbar, And, it's used to explore and be able to go down / up large drops. Also, in the event that you are grief'd into a falling trap, being able to quickly drop water to negate the fall, could prevent you from dying.

Beyond that, you'd have to google it. (I know - too busy, same. lol)

This... probably shouldn't happen... >.> meh, who am I to argue. lol
