I noticed this action marks an achievement in the Bedrock Edition.
Will it be replaced by the one in the Java Edition?
Achievement: "We Need to Go Deeper"
Description: Build, light and enter a Nether Portal
Parent achievement: Ice Bucket Challenge
Requirement: Enter the Nether.
This issue not to forget to fix what I've found - portal doesnt light and achievement looks a bit odd for me.
To be honest I can't difference aсhievements and advancements for now, need to learn...
But I like the way when they print in the chat, who achieves what in MC, so I plan to implement MineClone2/MineClone2#183 but it seems the subject is big, maybe you better create dedicated issue to discuss it, add some 'todo' checkboxes, etc...
The Java Edition now has Advancements, and the Bedrock Edition has Achievements. So that's pretty much the difference (other than how they're set for each game), and at this point we should only care about Advancements, which were introduced in 1.12, which is ultimately that's where we're heading and it makes sense to look forward because this new system will also take some time to be implemented.
I'm not sure how I could help, considering the information is nicely structured in the wiki. Do you have something specific in mind?
