Recreated Repo #1

The original repo was deleted, and was recreated but it squashed the git history. We are recreating this from scratch.

Problem is solved.

Plan is to pick correct license and start from scratch.

This repo is for things that will enhance the game but aren't strictly in the main game.

I still don't understand how it is so hard to acknowledge that it was my work. This almost makes it look like you'd rather just delete it than admit to that simple fact lol.

But yeah it's probably a good idea not to use my stuff if you don't actually want to work off of it as it is highly experimental.

We had different views on the direction of MineClone 2 Plus. You added some stuff in that was originally contentious such as an item duper. You were unhappy with the history squash. This problem has been solved.

This was not your idea. It was my idea, and Faer suggested the way to do it. You took that idea and carried on from there and fair enough, but you don't own the idea.

I don't mind giving credit and I've given you plenty for your MineClone 2 work. I think most of the stuff I liked in this was from Prairie, and would happily give them credit for it. I think the sleeping bag thing looked cool, of course, and if that's yours, then credit to you. However, anything included of yours seems to kick off conflict, so it's probably best it splits off in this regards.

The license should probably be gpl3 - it's not much of a choice usually if there's any chance you will include gpl code you can't relicense. It's like a virus cancer thing yk.

I think GPL2/3 is a good plan. That's my preference. I think assets, sounds etc. tend to be CC-BY-?

For anyone who wants to their game to crash, their world data corrupted and their computers to explode: here's the original hehe https://git.minetest.land/cora/mcl_plus

Yours isn't the original, the original was here and you deleted the repository. If people want to play that, they are welcome to.

This whole thing would not be an issue if you hadn't deleted the repository. Mistakes were maken, accept your own.

you said that you owned the whole thing. FYI -- stealing someone's ideas and claiming them as your own is considered in bad taste, cora.

Yeah, finally had a moment's respite from the drama, and it got done. (I know, amazing, right?) :D

I would like to see original commit history, otherwise, I may just remove extra structures from the modpack 🤷‍♂️. All I really want is to be credited, otherwise I would just license every mod of mine as public domain.

The Modpack has it's original commit history.
I wasn't sure when you would be around, but I (personally) would love it if you would upload extra_structures to it. I will happily put you in with full credits.

In fact, consider this a personal request for you to add it to the modpack, @PrairieWind

I would second that. Wanted to get your permission and consent to get it re-added back in, PrarieWind. If you're cool with that, full credit will be given.

I don't think you were. I think it's been a bit confusing so starting from a blank canvas helps. Hopefully confusion is cleared up a bit now :).

Ok, permission granted as long as full commit history appears. But, If I ever finish the desert temple revamp mod, it will be also allowed into the modpack, but it stays in a seperate original mod and on ContentDB. Some work has occured, as the dunestone exists publicly. I just need to build some schematics, and create some unique loot.

If you've got an idea how to pull that history in just for the extra structures, feel free to do that. I'm not sure the best way to do that on an existing repo, and given recent tensions, that's fraught with danger. I have a few other things I need to prioritise over this atm though.

help me clone it from your repo, so that it is in correctly. Git is not my strongest suit... and I don't want to botch it. Not sure what the best way to do that would be.

I was also going to ask about the dunestone stuff, as I want to see it and I contributed to it.

As far as it staying in a separate mod on contentdb too, I'm good with that.

What made you think I was going to say anything else?

what's the point of your response?

Do you think that was a good step towards less drama?

Again, See:

You know, cora, you are really tiresome.

Good day.

Thanks.

Edited to add an emphasized "Again,"

What you requested, we have resolved. I don't think you actively want to get involved and we both don't want any more drama, so can you leave now please?

I'm not sure if you're hovering around waiting for an opportunity. You have your other project to focus on. Please do. Good luck.

Funny thing is, none of you are correct about originality. I owned the original mineclone2 plus repo before I transfered it to the MineClone2 organization. This is like a fork, and cora has another fork, just with all of the original commit history.

Cora, a bit of help, what is the command you use to include a git repo inside another git repo?

It may have been the case, I don't remember, but it's no longer a fork. That fork was deleted, and Cora kicked off after the repo was deleted, and recreated. She wasn't happy with us trying to fix the error, and I'm not sure if Michieal did it from a zip file he had downloaded and didn't think he had another option.

Either way, the decisions been taken to start afresh, so this is not a fork anymore, but a fresh repo, and things need to be added in again. Free repo, fresh start, no licensing issues from the start. One was raised in regards to the previous repo, so we shouldn't fork it.

Actually, if you look at it, everything was deleted, and only the mods that I started was put up. So... it's all brand new. nothing from the "original" is left, that I didn't add in.

To wit, not even extra structures is currently in there. There's no noob house, itemduper, autocrafting stations, nada zip zilch.

I was simply answering a question prairie had you guys refused to answer. There was no need for your alt's hostility.

They like want the drama - look at what they do.

hmm, it appears I am screwed as now I am accused of having alts at work. Damn it.

I only had the zip that I downloaded from before all of the drama ensued. As, I didn't expect all of the drama, and I didn't expect cora to delete the repo with this as her sole reasoning:

I deleted it to repload it under my account (which I did a few days after). To maybe keep working on it. I already told you this multiple times btw.

While I couldn't control the actions of others, I did try to fix it because multiple people were asking "Where did it go??" on discord.

I have accepted that no good deed goes unpunished, and stand corrected in trying to fix the issue.

Show me what work you put into the original mcl_plus (orignal contributions).

But I guess facts don't count around here (certain people's) ideas do.

For the third time, See:

Good day.

Thanks.

Deleted baiting comments again. Stop it.

Deleted 2 from Cora, 1 from Michieal, 1 from Kabou. I can do this all day, but I'd rather not. It is quicker to delete than to write.

At this point, I wonder if I should just leave the drama and no longer work on mineclone2 plus.

You could, but that is what the people baiting and causing chaos want to have happen. If they can wear you down, and you say screw it, they "win" by achieving their goals.

You win, by not giving up, by doing what you want and not allowing the haters to make choose their choice.

And, the only reason that I am on the "deleted" list, is that I responded to cora, and what I said could be interpreted as baiting. (Because I pointed out that I had quoted her, and her saying that I was a liar, was really at her own words.) And I can see how it was baiting, even though I was truthful. meh, live and learn.
